What does it mean to be a firefly?
Our purpose and our core is to nourish, nourish EVERYTHING, our clients, our farm, our community, the Earth and most importantly our teammates.
We grow and serve some of the best food on the planet 86 the BS. In an industry filled with drama, egos, and pretense, we are hospitable to everyone. The way we love our team translates into love on our plates and in our dining rooms. It’s why many of our clients say firefly is their favorite restaurant on planet earth.
Who are we in our heart of hearts?
fireflies are Courageous. Brene Brown style courageous. The root of the word courage is cor - the Latin word for heart. In one of its earliest forms, the word courage meant "To speak one's mind by telling all one's heart." fireflies have the courage to say what needs to be said in a kind, caring way. We don’t whine by the water cooler, we care enough about each other, our team and our work to be honest and authentic in all things.
Fireflies are Fanatical Nurturers. If you don’t believe us, ask around. First we nurture our team and our team nurtures our clients, community, land and Earth. The food we create is insanely delicious as well as sustainable. Everyone is invited to our party, always. (It’s what makes our parties awesome.)
Fireflies are Devoted to team. In fact, it is their devotion to this team that gets our founders Niall and Kristie out of bed in the morning. They believe in team first - Period. They know if we don’t nourish the @#$% out of our team, they cannot fanatically nurture our guests. Firefly is dedicated to helping our people live the lives they have dreamed of. The list of benefits firefly offers is unlike any restaurant. Our employee lounge has a laundry, shower, game station and most importantly, a huge table where we break bread together as a firefly family. AKA staff meal. Fireflies Learn & Lead - we equip our team with the finest equipment, tools, technology and teaching. We believe in servant leadership and no one on our team is above any job. We work together for the success of us all.
Lastly, we are NEVER satisfied. Our evolution towards greatness is a wild ride full of unexpected twists and turns, opportunities and feats of glory. We love what we do. It’s an adventure.
